Welcome to Purleigh Primary School!
Purleigh Primary School is situated in the village of Purleigh, south of the Blackwater Estuary in Essex. The towns of Maldon and South Woodham Ferrers are three and four miles away and there are several smaller villages that are situated around the school. It is these villages that form the school's priority admission area.
The classes are divided into seven individual year groups and class numbers range from thirty to thirty four. Presently the school has a 211 pupils on its roll, highlighting the school's popularity.
In November 2012 we were inspected by Ofsted and were graded as 'outstanding' across the board. We were judged as outstanding for Achievement of pupils, Quality of Teaching, Behaviour and Safety of pupils, Quality of Leadership and Management as well as Overall Effectiveness. Since this inspection the school has continued to develop and is now part of The Eveleigh LINK Academy Trust.
Pupils attain results across the school traditionally well above national data in English and maths. In 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 we achieved greater than the national average for pupils meeting the required standard in reading, writing and maths combined at key Stage 1 and key Stage 2.
Purleigh Primary School is a happy village school where parents enjoy sending their children. It has a positive ethos and is a popular school with many families travelling a long way to attend.
