As usual, the parents and children made wonderful efforts with costumes and props to celebrate World Book Day this year. The children had the opportunity to join in with a live lesson broadcast by the BBC and spent the day sharing favourite books and stories through a range of activities. Lots of children made posters to encourage others to read for pleasure, not wanting anybody to miss out on the enjoyment that books can bring us.

National Literacy Trust research shows that children who enjoy reading are three times more likely to have good mental wellbeing than children who don’t enjoy reading.
