Achievement for all in a community that cares

Welcome

Homework

Homework Expectations

Now the children are in Year 1 following the National Curriculum, there is an expectation that they all complete regular homework activities. These tasks are designed to celebrate the children's learning as well as share some of the curriculum with you at home. There are various rewards and certificates the children can achieve for working hard and trying their best.

Reading should be completed every day. This only needs to be for 5minutes. The regular revision of their phonics as well as discussing the text content and meaning, all help to promote a love of reading as well as develop a greater language understanding.

The children will also be set weekly arithmetic tasks which will directly link to their learning in class. These will help the children to consolidate and revise their learning as well as allow you to see some of the content we cover. Please scroll down for the Arithmetic link.

There is also the topic based homework that allows your child to extend their knowledge and understanding as well as share some of the wider curriculum at home. These tasks will develop a range of writing, creative and knowledge based skills that we hope the children enjoy completing. Please scroll down for the Topic link.

Homework books need to be handed in by Wednesday of each week in order to be marked and handed back on a Friday. If you miss one week, don't worry, we will see it the following week.

Thank you for your continued support.
