Some parents have asked for guidance regarding the organization of home learning during this time of school closure. Whilst we know that you are perfectly capable of organizing yourselves and your families, these are unprecedented times and we would like to offer support, should you need it.
Teachers can also be contacted via the Purleigh Admin e-mail account.
If you haven’t done it already, then one of the first things that you may want your children to do is to #spreadthecolour and join the many other children across the UK drawing or painting a rainbow and placing it in their windows. People walking past your house will be cheered up by seeing the rainbows and your children can go for a walk and count the rainbows they find too.
We suggest that you follow a daily timetable that includes the following:
30 minutes of reading – either reading to an adult/sibling or completing some reading comprehension;
10 minutes of spelling practice using the look, say, cover, write, check method;
A maths challenge;
An English/writing challenge;
A topic challenge – science, art, history, geography etc.
A physical workout e.g. Joe Wicks or Yoga.
Note that Joe Wicks is offering daily P.E. lessons on his YouTube channel.
Children, even though you will be missing some school, you can still learn and try your best at everything you do. Please keep reading, writing, drawing, designing, playing, problem-solving and learning about our amazing world.
I will be thinking of you all every day.
Stay safe everybody
