The Autumn term homework will consist of homework focusing upon three key subjects; literacy, maths and topic. This allows children to practise a variety of skills and share a range of learning with those at home. Please be aware that some of the pieces may not be covered during the beginning of the term and therefore the children are not expected to complete them in the order given. Numbers are given so that children can keep track of which pieces have been completed. If you have any questions about the homework then please do not hesitate to ask or send a note.
Please ensure that your children are reading on a daily basis and that if you read with them that you record this in their reading record. In addition, your children will receive weekly spellings linked to the National Curriculum they will be expected to learn these ready for a spelling test on Mondays.
Multiplication is a vital element in Maths. Please ensure that your children are learning their times tables up to 12 and the division facts for these as well. The children will be tested weekly on their times tables and will progress onto the next times table when they achieve full marks on their weekly test.
The maths homework will be available in the maths file, located in the classroom. The folder will contain three levels of homework; green, orange and red. The children will need to use their judgement to choose their homework and will be encouraged to challenge themselves if necessary. These activities will link to learning within the classroom.
